For visitors wanting to explore wildlife from distant lands, Oregon's Wildlife Safari offers the chance to get up close and personal with wild animals from Africa, Asia, North and South America. The park hosts over 500 species of animals that can be viewed along a four and one-half mile safari-style drive around the park. The park also hosts a petting zoo, meeting facilities and educational resources.
For students, Wildlife Safari offers a Zoo School that provides guided field trips and school visits. Presentations can be tailored to particular curriculum needs and give students a chance to question experts about the wildlife and their habitats. Small groups can participate in “Deer Feeds” or “Elephant Encounters”, and all groups will enjoy a hands-on, interactive experience. Teachers can also arrange for school visits where a special “Educational Ambassador” brings selected animal friends into the classroom and gives a presentation tailored to the students age and curriculum.
