Mildred Kanipe Memorial Park is a 1,100 acre Douglas County park rich in history and ecosystem restoration projects. Visitors and school groups can visit sites with oak woodland restoration, wetland restoration, riparian restoration and stream restoration projects. In addition, the park offers rich historical content – it is designated as a Century Farm and has a school house on the National Register of Historic Places and an historic rail car bridge. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data is available for computer mapping and study of natural resources in the park.
